Helping Clients Shine at Commodity Classic

Commodity Classic is one of our favorite events of the year, and 2020 was no exception. The three-day convention – held in February before COVID-19 forced meeting cancellations nationwide – brings together farmers, media, business leaders and more to explore industry trends and set the direction of ag policy for the coming year. Every year, we’re challenged to help our clients shine in new ways on the trade show floor, in the media, at receptions and during sessions.

In 2020, members of our team supported a variety of client activities for FMC, Illinois Soybean Association, Environmental Tillage Systems, Midwestern BioAg, Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana Corn Marketing Council. We also hosted a margarita reception to thank clients and celebrate an exceptional start to the year.

Here’s a rundown of just a few top highlights from the show:


  • FMC continued the external launch of their new brand promise, Advancing Chemistry to Advance Agriculture, with a newly designed booth and supported key products such as the 3RIVE 3D® application system, FMC Freedom Pass program, Lucento® fungicide and Authority® Edge herbicide. FMC took a novel approach to Advancing Chemistry to Advance Agriculture by treating growers to liquid nitrogen ice cream churned fresh in their booth throughout the show.
  • In addition to a cool booth experience, our PR team helped reps successfully connect with ag media outlets for a total of 35 interviews during the show. FMC also hosted two mini “What’s New” sessions on the latest crop protection offerings, highlighting Authority® Edge herbicide for preemergent weed control and Xyway™ 3D fungicide for in-furrow foliar disease protection.

Midwestern BioAg

  • Midwestern BioAg showcased TerraNu®, an innovative carbon-based fertilizer that stimulates soil biology and increases nutrient uptake, helping farmers improve their crop performance and achieve higher yields. Members of our PR team worked with them to craft key messages and secure interviews with seven ag media outlets, resulting in three stories.

Environmental Tillage Systems

  • The makers of the SoilWarrior® strip-till system enhanced their booth presence with larger-than-life pillars and banners we created to showcase customer experiences. Featured farmers included the Hefty brothers, National Corn Yield Contest winner David Hula and several 4R Advocate winners who also stopped by the booth to chat with farmers and media.
